You’ve made it this far - now let’s see it through.

Let’s work together to find the values, actions, and solutions that work for you. My goal in therapy at Gradients Counseling is to develop a deep and meaningful relationship with you, so we can collaborate on integrating lasting changes in your life.

Therapy Specialties

    Trauma-Informed Care

Trauma is a very complicated subject, but to keep a very long story short, trauma is subjective, perceptive, and embodied; which means that as a therapist, I am working with those factors, not against them.

  • three signs on chain link fence that say don't give up you are not alone and you matter

    Eating Disorders

The truth of the matter is, most of us (including myself!) have experienced some level of disordered eating. Eating disorders really rear their ugly heads when those behaviors start to dictate how and why we live our lives through what and when we eat and drink.

  • LGBTQIA+ pride flag against a blue sky

    LGBTQIA+

The gay community knows better than most - we’re prone to increased levels of depression, anxiety, eating disorders, mood disorders, personality disorders, trauma…but we’re also resilient, creative, adaptable, intuitive, determined, ambitious - we’re survivalists, really (especially in this economy).

Therapy Approaches

Here are a few therapies and theories I like to use in session.

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is a mindfulness-based therapeutic approach that helps individuals accept their thoughts and emotions rather than fighting or avoiding them. It encourages psychological flexibility by guiding people to align their actions with their values, even in the presence of discomfort. Through acceptance, mindfulness, and committed action, ACT fosters personal growth and well-being.

  • Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT) is a goal-oriented therapeutic approach that focuses on finding practical solutions rather than analyzing problems. It helps individuals identify their strengths, build on past successes, and develop strategies to create positive change in a short time. SFT emphasizes future possibilities and encourages clients to take small, actionable steps toward their goals.

  • Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) is a structured, evidence-based treatment designed to help individuals recover from trauma, particularly PTSD. It focuses on identifying and challenging unhelpful beliefs related to the traumatic event, helping clients reframe their thoughts and reduce distress. Through guided reflection and cognitive restructuring, CPT fosters healing and emotional resilience.

  • Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a client-centered counseling approach that helps individuals explore and resolve ambivalence about change. It strengthens motivation by fostering a collaborative, nonjudgmental conversation that enhances a person’s confidence and commitment to making positive life changes. MI emphasizes empathy, active listening, and empowering clients to make their own choices.
